House League Convenors Needed

House League Convenors are needed for the upcoming summer 2012 outdoor soccer season.

Age groups available to convene:

  • Girls 2001
  • Girls 1999
  • Girls 1998
  • Boys 2004
  • Boys 1997

Convenor Roles and Responsibilities:

GOALS:

  • Coordination of specific age-group activities as prescribed by Club
  • Provide a liaison between the House League Coach, parent and the age group Director

ACTIVITIES:

  • Attend Convenor meetings as set by the Operations Committee or House League Coordinator
  • Oversee player “drafts” prior to establishing house league teams in conjunction with division director

Attend:

  1. Club Registration on prescribed dates
  2. Player evaluations (tiering)
  3. Club Photo Day(s)
  4. Mini-Soccer/Youth Soccer Picnic day activities
  5. Attend nightly games on rotating bases on occasion

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must complete the green “Administrator” Registration form (OSA document)
  • Must provide a valid “Police Records Search” to the Club House
  • Recruit appropriate age-group coaches
  • Liaison between individual coaches and House League Coordinator and Operations committee
  • Present “Policy & Procedures – Rules and Regulations” and limitations relative to roles and responsibilities of coaches at coaches meeting\
  • Organization of league for age-group as set by Operations Committee
  • Attend Pre-season player training, Weekend Kickoff & placement of late player registrants
  • Assist the Club House to hand out coaches “equipment bags”
  • Providing the club house with team lists of players and coaches including e-mail addresses
  • Maintaining and providing standings during the playoff season on a weekly basis and entering them in the system
  • Monitor referee attendance and report all concerns to the Club House
  • If necessary, monitor field conditions as reported by coaches including visual inspection
  • Hold post-season “PEER REVIEW” meetings to get ratings for all players
  • Attendance at Convenor meetings and Operations meeting as requested
  • Communicating with the appropriate director regarding divisional matters
  • Attending the year end picnic and handing out awards
  • Maintain a database with player information, team #, and rating and e-mail addresses
