What is the Mississauga Eagles FC Academy?

The Mississauga Eagles FC Academy program is a means to develop and prepare youth to participate in Football within their stage of the Long Term Player Development Matrix, Mississauga Eagles FC offers players the opportunity to be a part of a professional environment – qualified coaches with extensive experience who understand the phases of player development and can assist a player achieve their true potential.

The Academy program’s goal is to assist players in learning basic principles of football, achieve high physical preparedness, master the technical and tactical elements of the game, learn and perfect different game systems and earn individual and team satisfaction in training and competition.

Mississauga Eagles FC Academy Program

• Qualified coaches with minimum OSA Pre-B licensing or extensive playing/coaching experience
• Emphasis on individual player development
• Specialized skill training for field players and goalkeepers
• Player mentoring and evaluations
• Showcase opportunities on an international level at trainings and/or tournaments
• Preferred rate on player identification camps
• Access to training from international guest coaches
• Distinctive academy uniform

Information on Fall and Winter trials for the Academy program will be posted soon, check the website regularly for updates

Commitment

The amount of time committed to the academy can vary. Training sessions usually run for roughly one to two hours and at a minimum, players would be asked to train 2 days a week but this could scale up to 7 days depending on how much they want to train and how much the development coaches think that it is required.

Please note: the program focuses vary between age groups for example, boys and girls, ages 4 through to 7, are accepted to the program as opposed to selected to the program. An application form needs to be completed for all age groups.
