Rep League
Erin Mills S.C. Fields Over 38 "Rep" Teams from Ages 9 (U10) Through Adult.
Our Rep teams provide a rigorous training program and competition among other clubs around the province, and, in some cases, outside of the country.
Rep players are recognizable through distinctive uniforms and their total commitment to personal excellence in soccer.
Rep teams typically play and practice year round. They compete on indoor fields through the winter and move outside from April to October. Rep players are scouted from our recreational House League and in some cases, from other clubs in Mississauga where players are looking to come to Erin Mills.
Rep soccer is the first stepping stone for the keenest, best skilled, most committed players that Erin Mills can offer.
The commitment is significant for both players and parents. Hard work (mixed with fun) can be anticipated by both parents and players.
Rep soccer offers experienced coaches with mandatory coaching certification provided by the Ontario Soccer Association. Rep coaches are usually volunteers although they may choose to supplement their coaching staff with paid professional assistance.
Rep level players are expected to be participating in the club's ADP program for maximum development.
Rep players are expected to maintain and improve minimum measured standards in various skills and physical conditioning.
Rep teams compete at various competitive levels. Our youth teams begin in the South Region Soccer League which stretches from Fort Erie to London.
Exceptional teams with youth players 13 years old (U14) and older may be promoted to the Ontario Youth Soccer League (OYSL) where only the best teams in Ontario compete.
Rep teams compete for their respective league championships. They also compete for the Ontario Cup to identify the best teams in Ontario at each age group. The Ontario Cup champions earn the privilege to compete in the National Club Championships. Erin Mills is proud to have Rep teams who have excelled at all of these levels.
Recreational (House League) players have an opportunity to try out for a Rep team at any age. Players who are unsuccessful in their try out will be provided with a list of skill improvements that the coach feels are required before a player can play at that level.
It is not unusual for Rep coaches to draw players from the House League and All Star levels for spot duty during the season. Many Rep teams encourage promising players to train with their teams throughout the season.
The Club fields more than one Rep team in most age groups. The "A" team will be playing at the highest competitive level possible with "B" (and "C" in some cases) teams developing players to achieve "A" team status. All coaches and teams in an age group are expected to be working closely together to a common goal. This relationship is expected to extend to the All Star and Select levels and into the recreational house league with the assistance of designated Mentor Coaches.
