Becoming A Match Official
This year, Match Official courses have been completely redesigned and will be delivered virtually, through Ontario Soccer. Once the online portion of the course has been completed, the referees will do an on-field, practical session with Club Head Referee Joe Cacciacarro. Small-Sided Referee Course (Virtual)

The Small Sided Referee Course is for those who would like to become an accredited match official on 7v7 games and are 12 years of age (by March 31st of the current year) or older. Successful graduates are automatically registered with Ontario Soccer and do not have to register again until the following year.
Entry Level Referee Course (Virtual)

The Entry Level Referee Course is for those who would like to become an accredited match official for 9v9 and 11v11 games and are 14 years of age (by March 31st of the current year) and older. Successful graduates are automatically registered with Ontario Soccer and do not have to register again until the following year.

Certified Small Sided or Entry Level
Each Student MUST:

Complete several self-guided modules on the Laws (online)

Attend a mandatory webinar

Small-Sided: All Law Review; Entry Level: Laws 11&12

Pass the exam

Attend a Practical Session (in-person)

Pass a signals test (online)
